The Search for Outrageous Authenticity
Every collector knows … Authenticity is king. Whether it’s a coin, a toy, or a cup Elvis supposedly drank out of, it needs to be real to have value. Items have to be authenticated for savvy buyers to spend the money to invest in rare treasures. They are all just searching for something real.
Authenticity [noun]: the quality of being authentic; genuineness.
I think we are all searching for authenticity. From the goods we buy to the people we learn from, we demand honesty and connection. We don’t want a slimy sales pitch, bogus goods, or broken promises. Because, really, is there anything worse than being duped by a cheap knock off or a fake imitation?!
When we launched our first Beautiful Wholeness event in February of 2015 we didn’t know exactly what to expect that day. But we knew we wanted to present each of the women who attend an experience that was unique, fun, practical, and outrageously authentic. We wanted her to think, “Wow. I didn’t know what today would bring but I’m so glad I showed up.”
We did that with 2 simple steps you can easily adopt into your own life to live more outrageously authentic:
Step #1- Remember that excellence is better than perfection. People are looking for real, genuine, connection not perfect polished performances. Don’t forget everyone is looking for authenticity.
Step #2- Being real and vulnerable is magnetic. People are drawn to moments where they can shed their perfected outer layers and be themselves. You can create moments like that for others just by being willing to do it yourself first.
“The atmosphere of authenticity that I walked into at the start of the day was a sweet reward! As were the powerful truths I was reminded of all day. Thank you!” ~Laura Moss, 2015 & 2016 BW attendee
It’s been 3 years since our first event…
and I can honestly say that authenticity rules the day. I’m so proud of not only our team that ensures we provide an event that delivers everything it promises; but, also every woman who has walked through those doors and bravely pulled off the layers to be authentic and real.
Are you tired of attending events that promise change but nothing really happens?
