Drenched in TRUTH

Drenched in TRUTH

By: Mandy B. Anderson

Have you ever felt completely dry and burnt out, desperate for encouragement? That was me. For the last few weeks I have felt an extreme heaviness in my spirit and honestly, instead of digging into God for wisdom and encouragement, I dug a hole and had a pity-party. Until this week. The dam broke this week and all my feelings spilled out in a much needed way. I started to seek God for answers, for encouragement, and for wisdom in what my theme for 2018 should be. What HE wants my theme to be. And here’s what He told me: 2018 is a year for me to be Drenched in TRUTH.

What does that mean, exactly?

Well, I did some digging yesterday and found some answers. First of all, in John 14:6, Jesus says that He is the way, the TRUTH, and the light. So, for me, 2018 is a year to be drenched in truth AND more Jesus. But wait – there’s more…

A dear friend and mentor recently told me to put The Passion Translation Bible on my Christmas wish list. So I did some digging yesterday – on the internet since I don’t have the paperback book yet – and Psalm 15 spoke to me in such a HUGE way! In this scripture lies all of the character qualities that I hope to have. In this scripture lies the encouragement I needed from God on what HE sees in me. I was so encouraged that I couldn’t keep this from you so here is the entire scripture verse…

Psalm 15 The Passion Translation (TPT)
Living in the Shining Place
A poetic song, by King David

Lord, who dares to dwell with you?
Who presumes the privilege of being close to you,
living next to you in your shining place of glory?[b]
Who are those who daily dwell in the life of the Holy Spirit?[c]

They are passionate and wholehearted,
always sincere and always speaking the truth—
    for their hearts are trustworthy.

They refuse to slander[d] or insult others;
they’ll never listen to gossip or rumors,
nor would they ever harm another with their words.

They will speak out passionately against evil and evil workers
while commending the faithful ones who follow after the truth.
They make firm commitments and follow through,
    even at great cost.

They never crush others with exploitation or abuse
and they would never be bought with a bribe
    against the innocent.
They will never be shaken; they will stand firm forever.

Wow! That encouraged me so much and I pray it encourages you, too.

What is your 2018 Theme?

I encourage you to start asking God for what your 2018 theme should be. Write down the word, or phrase, that He gives you and then search for a few Bible verses to go with it. BE Intentional about this! Choose to be purposeful with your life in 2018 and you’ll be so amazed where you are a year from now!
